Ground Water Monitoring Applications Available
The Ravalli County Environmental Health Department will begin Ground Water Monitoring on Wednesday, April 1, 2015.
Ground Water Monitoring is often a necessary step toward obtaining septic approval for a parcel where high ground water is suspected. If a site evaluation has been conducted on your property and the sanitarian called for Ground Water Monitoring, you should have received notice from the Environmental Health Department alerting you to contact the Department and sign up for Ground Water Monitoring.
If you own a parcel of land for which you would like to get septic approval, and you are uncertain whether high ground water exists on your property, you should contact the Environmental Health Department and sign up for Ground Water Monitoring for the 2015 season. The cost to monitor one pipe is $150, and each additional pipe is $30 with a one-time mileage fee depending on location.
The deadline to sign up for Ground Water Monitoring is Friday, March 13, 2015. For more information, contact the Environmental Health Department, 215 South Fourth Street, Suite D, Hamilton, MT, 59840 or call 375-6565.
