Ravalli County and the Bitterroot National Forest will lift
fire restrictions beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, August 29th. This means campfires are again allowed on the forest and also lifts the restrictions (hoot owl) on firewood cutting in the afternoon. Open burning through the Burn Permit program continues to be prohibited in Ravalli County at this time.

RESCINDS
RESOLUTION NO. 3765 (Stage II Restrictions)
WHEREAS, the Board of
County Commissioners of Ravalli County, Montana, passed Resolution 3697 on February
27, 2018, which established a local fire season in the County, and Resolution
3758 on July 11, 2018, which restricted open burning in the County, and
Resolution 3765 on August 8, 2018, which implemented Stage II fire restrictions
in the County; and
WHEREAS, due to recent
cooler temperatures and precipitation and anticipated weather patterns have
reduced the level of fire danger in the area; and
WHEREAS, the Ravalli
County Firewarden recommends lifting Stage II fire restrictions within Ravalli
County;
THEREFORE BE IT
RESOLVED, the RAVALLI COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS does hereby rescind Resolution No. 3765, effective Wednesday, August 29 at 12:01 am.
