Clerk & Recorder

Online Document Search
Access documents and records online. Document indexing goes back to 1988 and all imaging goes back to 1999. Deed images are now available back to 1988. All of our subdivisions, certificate of surveys and amended plat images are available. We offer both short-term passes or longer term subscriptions, depending on your needs. If you click on "Basic Search", you can view our indexing for free. If you need assistance in your search, please start by viewing our Tips for Searching

If you need a copy of an older document (pre-1988), you will need to send a written request to our office along with payment.  This payment is a minimum of $5.00 for up to five pages.  Any request over pages will require an additional .25 per page.  If you need a certified copy there will be an additional $2.00 charge per document.

Clerk & Recorder's Responsibilities
The Clerk and Recorder's office is similar to a library. We are the custodians of hundreds of types of documents, and we record and provide access to them. We do not interpret documents. We answer basic questions about how to find documents and assist people in doing so.

Our department is responsible for recording and maintaining a variety of records including but not limited to:
  • Recording and filing various documents regarding real property
  • Changing a billing address on your tax bill
  • Voter registration and information
  • Obtaining certified copies of birth and death records
  • Survey copies
  • Commissioner resolutions
  • County tax appeal forms
  • Declaration of Homestead
  • Real property research, including old well logs, covenants, easements
  • School and Fire District maps
  • Voluntary zoning petitions
Please feel free to stop in any time Monday-Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
